Passatin "salaiset" ominaisuudet

Post by Hilleri »

Lainasin tekstin ulkomaiselta foorumilta. Osa ihan käyttöopas-tavaraa, osa taas oli minulle uutta. Jos jotakuta kiinnostaa tutustua Passatin salaisten ominaisuuksien maailmaan. :)

Secret compartments - in the dash, 2, just push in to the sides of the hazard light's button. cd changer compartment in the glove compartment, drops down

Automatically adjusted radio volume based on speed

European Parking lights. turn on blinker with key off. lights the led's low enough to protect your car but not run down your battery

Sliding sun visors, when turned to side extend to block sun

3 blink turn markers on mirrors, touch once, blinks 3 times. Comfort Turns: if you fully push down on the turn signal stalk and immediately click it back into its "rest position", the CCM still recognizes it as a lane change, so it still blinks 3 times

Fold down hooks in trunk roof on left side, can istall a second one on right side, holds plastic groceries bag perfecctly.

Self-draining umbrella pocket in drivers side door, can only access when door is open.

Doors relock if not opened shortly after hitting the unlock button on the fob (perhaps a 30 second

Cruise control can be adjusted in +/- 5MPH _OR_ +/- 1 MPH increments. +/- 5 is done by pushing cruise stick up/down (like a turn signal motion). Cruise speed is increased +1 MPH by pulling the cruise stick toward the driver, decreased -1 MPH by pressing the Set button at the end of the cruise stick. HOLD stalk up and speed will increase like using the accelerator, opposite when holding down.

You cannot put the wipers in the service position when the hood is not locked. To put wipers in service mode for changing blades out or for leaving wipers "up" for easy cleaning the next morning after "overnight" snow/ice, hold down wiper stalk within 10 seconds of shutting the car off (or switching the ignition on & off). To reset, insert key (engine off), push down on the wiper stalk again.

Two red spot lights next to the sunroof control which light the front console very elegantly.

Plastic clip on inside of driver's side windshield to hold your parking permit (not on mine).

Multiple settings for opening the moon roof. Also, the moon shade is vented, so you can let fresh air in and not have the sun beat down on you if its directly overhead

Electro-mechanical power steering. Doesn't rob power from the engine and doesn't use power steering fluid

Telescoping steering column

Key: exterior door handles covers which hide the key hole, you have to use the small metal key inside the key fob to open this little secret cover

Key: metal key can be fully inserted into electronic key body, so the chrome back is completly smooth (slowly comes back out on mine at first but with contiinued insertion finally stays in!).

Key: Also, to use the metal key to pry off the plastic door handle cover to access the keyhole: pop out the metal key from the electronic key, insert metal key backwards into the electronic key (i.e., chrome hanger in first) and the metal key locks in place so you can use the electronic key body as a handle for the metal key

Key: To disassemble: 1) remove metal key; 2) push chrome cap hard towards chrome side button that releases the metal key, will hear a snap and it then comes off; 3) slide thumb nail between two halves on both sides, the two cover will then seperate. I put my spare key's battery in the frig. to preserve the life (will not need it for years).

Pulling up and holding the driverside window button after getting out of the vehicle with the windows down will close all windows and sunroof. When you unlock the door, push down on the driver's side window and all of the windows will roll down

Put the passat in reverse and the fresh air intake valve closes and the air inside the car is recirculated. Prevents you from breathing your own exhaust

Micron air filter to block pollen and dust. It also has a charcoal filter to stop odors from entering the car

When your windshield wipers are on, your brakes apply slightly "wiping" the discs ever few minutes. Keeping your brakes dry and muck free

While listening to a cd (with dyanaudio) you can hold down the next track or previous track button on the steering wheel and fast foward or reverse the on the track you are listening to

Hooks on the inside part of the B pillar, and pull down roof handels, are for suit hangers, though they are kind of small.

Fresh air intake for engine has a lid that will come off to clean out debris, near right front of engine compartment.

The "ding" sound alerts the driver when the temp falls below 40F. Potential road freeze warning little snowflake symbol next to the temp LED

Tempperature needle and the gas guage needle always land at zero together

Seat heater

The gas cap has a peg on it that can be conveniently inserted into a hole at the top of the hinge of the fuel door to keep it out of the way while fueling

There are holders in the glovebox for a pen or pencil and a notepad. They are on the back wall of the glovebox (not in mine).

When the wipers go to the resting position, they will periodically move UP the windshield about a 1/2 inch, to make sure that you're resting the rubber of the blade on the alternate side - it lengthens the service life of the wiper blades

The handle to get to the spare can be hooked onto the rubber gasket surrounding the trunk, so you can use both hands to get the spare out of the trunk (need them both)

The brake lights are usually the external red circles which also act like blinkers, but when the position lights are on, then it's the internal circle the one that act as brake lights

Holding in the trip odometer button next to the wrench until the display changes. It then shows your speed digitally in km/hr while traveling. To set back to total milage, with key inserted but engine off, hold down odometer button, it will cycle first to km, and if you keep holding it down it will then cycle back to millage, release.

Tire pressure sensor, if the spare is low the low tire warning will appear on the dash.

Radio can be made to stay on for up to 1 hour without the key

Winter tire speed control warning – in MFD

Adjustable max speed warning – in MFD

Sunroof/moonroof has pinch protection, and it's always on. HOWEVER, if you want to disable it, push the front of the dial UP after rotating it back to the 'home' position (or 6 o'clock), and you'll turn OFF the pinch protection

When you spray washer on the windshield after the 5 or 6 wipes they do with the spray they wait about 2 seconds and do another wipe "tear wiping" (not on mine).

Cupholder in rear armrest will not extend if the armrest is not fully down

Cruise control, a LED speedometer pops up on the screen and shows the numeric value. when the cruise control is active, the set speed is indicated by a LARGE display, but when you tap the brake to disengage, the set speed drops to a smaller font display

If you have the hazards on you can still use the turn signals

If you do not have your seatbelt on the auto Hold will not come on

There is a light in the LOCK buttons on the doors that lights when the doors are locked and goes off when the doors are unlocked
red LED flashes when car is locked via the remote on both front doors

Doors automatically lock when car reaches 5 MPH (10 MPH on mine)

If your driving on a road with a crown in the middle, the car will self align so that you won’t have to steer against the crown, AND also works with strong cross-winds (not on mine)

On the base 6 cd stereo, hold the Scan button for customization options

The side-view mirrors fold – manually

Four wheel ABS works with the ESP on.

When Auto Hold is engaged and you put the car into park the E-Brake engages automatically.

If you start your B6 and your passenger sits down in the front seat. The "Passenger Airbag Off" sign starts flashing wildly before going off

You can use the Tiptronic function to select 2nd gear for starting out in slippery conditions in the highway.

If your key ever becomes stuck in the ignition, put the gear lever selector in, click the gear lever button three times and pull the key out

After running the A/C for a bit I hit the air recirculator button so that the A/C doesn't have to work so hard and so that the air is cooler. When I just go into the store or something and come right back out, the air recirculation is still selected on. However, when I let the car sit for a while and then go to drive it, the recirculation is off.

On the steering wheel and you are in the audio mode if you hold the up/down arrow you change to preset stations but you hold it in just a tad longer, you'll get an annoying 'ding' but you'll go up or down 1 channel

A/C ports in the rear console (close using turn wheel between the ports to get better cooling in front), mine has them.

Reflectors inside the trunk on both sides

Height of the front arm rest is adjustable to fit your angle

If you have the autohold on and open the the door, the car puts itself in park.

If you want your day time running lights off if you are parked somewhere, all you have to do is pull your emergency brake and the lights will go off!! comes in handy if waiting for people and dont want to look like a duh sitting there with lights on forever!!

When traveling above 80/90 MPH for longer than a given period (brief period), your lights will come on. when dropping below that threshold of speed they will stay on for a short period of time, and then return to normal.

Tap the wiper stick down to clean the windshield once (duh, all cars have this..but...), hold it down and the wipers go into high gear moving at the fast setting.

Twist the side mirror adjustment knob toward the front of the car and you turn on the side view mirror defroster.

Glovebox cooled...

Front arm rest compartment cooled,

Push down or up on your turn signal stalk when the vehicle is off. This should light up one side of your parking lights (european Parking lights) This is for parallel parking. (does not work on mine)

Here's one I haven't run across yet. Floating armrest map holder, slide folded map between the front of the drivers side door arm rest and door to have it held in a handy place.

In the driver's door cubby, there's a semi-hidden little elevated shelf on the back/left. Its the top of the umbrella storage tube; its perfect for placing keys/cel/whatever out of sight and readily available. In the front of that shelf is a ridge/tab, pull forward (hard) and it pops off to reveal the bottom of the umbrella storage tube.

BELOW 60 MPH
Intermitting SLOWEST SETTING: 1 swipe every 17 seconds (approx.) >>>>>>> CHANGES TO: 24 second (approx.) interval when stopped
Intermitting 2nd LOWEST SETTING: 1 swipe every 12 seconds (approx.) >>>>>>CHANGES TO: 17 second (approx.) interval when stopped
Intermitting 3rd LOWEST SETTING: 1 swipe every 6 seconds (approx) >>>>>>>CHANGES TO: 9 second (approx.) interval when stopped
Intermitting FASTEST SETTING: 1 swipe every 3 seconds (approx.) >>>>>>> CHANGES TO: 4 second (approx.) interval when stopped

ABOVE 60 MPH
Intermitting Wipe Settings will speed up (reduce delay time by 1-2 seconds) over 60 MPH.
FOR EXAMPLE: BELOW 60 MPH = 1 swipe every 6 seconds (3rd setting above)>>>>>>>CHANGES TO: 1 swipe every 4-5 seconds OVER 60 MPH.

LOW SPEED VS. HIGH SPEED

LOW SPEED CONTINUOUS WIPING: Continuous wiping (about 1 time per second) while driving...BUT: will switch to 1 swipe every 5 seconds when you come to a complete stop after car was moving in this mode. Continuous wiping will re-engage back to 1 swipe/second when you start to drive off OR...if you reset the wiper-arm while parked.

HIGH SPEED CONTINUOUS WIPING: Fast speed wiping while driving....but will switch into LOW SPEED CONTINUOUS WIPING when you come to a stop. Fast speed wiping will re-engage when you start driving again or if you reset the wiper while parked.

If you are stopped and you move the wiper arm...you'll engage the proper wipe sequence INTERMITTING, LOW, HIGH...but when you start moving and THEN stop the car...the changes will occur (listed above).

...and let's not forget that every (I didn't count) so often the wiper moves up about a quarter of an inch or so when you stop the car so that the blade does not always rest on one side when stopped.

No one has mentioned this one, when going at slower speeds, an additional light illuminates after turning the steering wheel past 1/2 turn. I had to get out and find the extra bulb. On the side and to the rear of the amber light next to the headlight.

On the 3.6L Passat, place your transmission in Reverse, turn the side mirror remote joystick knob to "R" and the passenger side view mirror will tilt down giving you a view of the curb. Turn the joystick knob back to the center position to bring the side view mirror back to your normal postion.

Haven't tried this on a 2.0, but on the 3.6 with the AFS, if you have your brights on when you shut the car off, the brights go off & only the low beams remain on for the duration of the delay.

When the AUTO turns the lights on the next time, the brights will not be on, even if you left the turn signal lever in the brights position. Cycling through dipped and back to brights brings them back to life.

I notice this: the brake lights are usually the external red circles (i mean, the most external of the two concentric circles, does it make sense?), which also act like blinkers, but when the position lights are on, then it's the internal circle the one that act as brake lights.

Fresh air intake has a black/grey lid up by the radiator that will come off to clean out debris.

Automatic Hazzards upon sudden braking

Pulling up and holding the driverside window button after getting out of the vehicle with the windows down will close all windows and sunroof. When you unlock the door, push down on the driver's side window and all of the windows will roll down.

Remove the center cupholders in the console. You will see the vw and passat symbols in the felt. It is molded into the bottom of the cupholders so the symbols will be left when removed. (not on mine)

Tiny white light near top of arm rest compartment lets you see what CD's or whatever you got stored at night when you lift lid.

Car won't let you pull the key out unless you have put it in park.

On the 2.0T there is an large plastic engine cover that contains the airfilter (access airfilter from underneath). The cover has 4 large rubber O-rings mounted on the underside, those O-rings slide over 4 phallic shapped steel pins mounted on the engine. To get the cover off, spray silicone oil into the center of the 2 front O-rings "just" visable under the front left and right sides of the cover and the lubricant will drain down to the phallic shapped steel pins. This will lubricate the outer large perimeter of the pin's "heads" so they eaily slide through the rubber O-rings which fit tightly. Then you can just pop up the front of the engine cover up and then you can see the 2 rear mounts, spray them and cover comes off easily. Really well engineered, and any guess what was on the engineer's mind

If you have the front wipers on while driving a wagon, and engage reverse, the rear wiper will engage to clear the rear window for you...even if the rear wiper was off.

Also, the rear grocery hooks on the wagon, which are mounted on each side of the cargo area, have 3 positions...normal they are flush with the sides, top flipped out for hanging grocery bags, or bottom flipped out as an extra tie-down loop (to accompany the floor-mounted tie downs).

Lights: Those with the adaptive bixenons will see their headlights perform an elaborate 'dance' - up, down, outside, inside) whenever you start the car, as the headlights balance and level. As well as steering into the turns, you still have that extra light mentioned above that illuminates to the sides for tight turns.

Extra power outlet in the trunk/cargo area for wagons and sedan, and in the rear center console for sedans also.

If you have the Premium radio headunit, you can access the "secret" diagnostic display by following this procedure:
1. Push and hold down tuner knob
2. Radio dings and goes into basic setup, keep holding
3. Radio dings again and goes back to normal display, keep holding
4. Radio dings yet again and goes into diagnostic mode
Once in that mode, you can see the signal strength of the radio station you're listening to as well as some other data I haven't bothered to decipher. To return to the normal display, just press the tune button briefly.

Lights: To prevent draining the battery, if you leave a door open for a certain amount of time, the interior lights (and display lights) will shut off.

Lights: Also, If you have the map lights manually on, when you arm the alarm, the lights shut off automatically.

Lights: I noticed also if you leave your lights on, they will dim after 10 mins (the amber ones in the headlights, I have bi-xenon)

For the wagon, the safety triangle storage is on the hatch itself. Undo the 2 knobs. Of course, you need to buy a set to put in there.

DRL brightness is adjustable (via VAG-COM, but that's cheating).

You can adjust the alarm that sounds when you lock the car, via the MDF Setting's Menu:
- Alarm confirmation: you can remove the honk and just have the flashing lights: ATF set to none (nice for not waking up neighbors at 2 am).
- Unlock all doors with a single push of the unlock.
NOTE: To get to the MDF Setting's Menu to change the alarm and other factory settings: hold the MDF toggle switch in the down position for 5 secconds with key in but car not running, and the Settings Menu appears on the MDF display.

If you have a Wagon with the electric opening tailgate and the original trailer-hook, it won`t open if there is a trailer attached. Also, if you have the original trailer-hook, you have ESP-function even on the trailer

On sedan, when vehicle is unlocked (hit unlock button 2 X), flip the VW emblem on the trunk and the trunk opens.

1.9 gallons of fuel left when reserve warning comes on.

4.8 quarts of oil for oil/filter change for 2.0T, 5.8 quarts for 3.6.

Battery has an clear plastic "eye", first tap to clear moisture from underside and then shine light into it. Look directly down into eye; Green color means battery is good, colorless or yellow and battery electrolite is low.

"Service Now" warning reset after oil change. For future reference for others in the 2007 Passat, you hold the wrench button down with ignition off. While still holding the wrench button turn on the ignition all the way, but do not start. Release the wrench button and press and hold the minutes (min) for a few seconds.

Ja tässä heti ne mitkä pitää itse käydä varmistamassa. Onhan näissä varustelukohtaisia eroja, mutta eipä sitä kokeilematta tiedä.

Fold down hooks in trunk roof on left side, can istall a second one on right side, holds plastic groceries bag perfecctly.

Micron air filter to block pollen and dust. It also has a charcoal filter to stop odors from entering the car

Aika pitkälti tuttuja ominaisuuksia mutta oli joukossa muutaman uusikin.

Self-draining umbrella pocket in drivers side door, can only access when door is open.

Key: exterior door handles covers which hide the key hole, you have to use the small metal key inside the key fob to open this little secret cover
Avaimen sisällä olevaa "hätäavainta" voi käyttää kytkemään apukuskin airbagin pois päältä. Mainittu ohjekirjassa.

If you do not have your seatbelt on the auto Hold will not come on
Tämä oli uusi tieto. Tosin turha kun aina tulee käytettyä turvavyötä.

Doors automatically lock when car reaches 5 MPH (10 MPH on mine)

When Auto Hold is engaged and you put the car into park the E-Brake engages automatically.

If you have the autohold on and open the the door, the car puts itself in park.
En ole huomannut mutta kuullostaa loogiselta.

Front arm rest compartment cooled,
Näinköhän?

Tuon ovien lukituksenhan saa sieltä ajotietokoneen kautta pois päältä, oliko joku door lock-kohta.. ärsyttävä ominaisuus jota ei onneksi joudu käyttämään.

Kyllä tuo keskikäsinojan lokero on minulla ilmastoitu myös.

Tuota sateenvarjo-reiän yläpuolella olevaa tasoa en kyllä ymmärtänyt että mikä se on.

Omia havaintoja:
Fold down hooks in trunk roof on left side, can istall a second one on right side, holds plastic groceries bag perfecctly: Näitä minulla ei kyllä ole. Löytyy vain nuo tavaraverkon kiinnikelenksut.

Multa löytyy tuommoiset metalliset kassikoukut takakontin molemmin puolin. Ovat ehkä turhan pienet ja aavistuksen liian korkealla jonka takia ihan täyteen ahdetun muovikassin saaminen koukkuun on vaikeaa.

Jaa, onko näin. Tarviikin katsella tieturin asetuksia joku päivä.

NOTE: To get to the MDF Setting's Menu to change the alarm and other factory settings: hold the MDF toggle switch in the down position for 5 secconds with key in but car not running, and the Settings Menu appears on the MDF display.
Toimiiko tämä?

Nämä ovat 3C-mallin ominaisuuksia ei 3BG:n tai vanhempien.
